Being an international long-distance runner means I push my body to the limit on a regular basis. Getting to the start-line fit and healthy is crucial in order to perform to the best of my ability. There is no point being 100% fit yet injured on race day. That's why regular massage and treament from Dan is an essential ingredient in my training schedule. He deals with niggles as they arise meaning they have less chance of developing into a serious injury. I won the national 5k road championships in 2004 and have represented Great Britain in the Ekiden road relays in Japan. I hope to translate this success into the longer distances when I make my marathon debut in London 2009. Dan's expertise will certainly be an imporant part of my meticulous preparation.

Running between 70 and 100 miles a week, I often find myself with the constant odd niggle or in desperate need for a sports massage, as a result, Dan is often getting phone calls from me, all hours of the day asking him to fix me. He has helped me and my body; over the past 4 years, to get back on the start line when it seemed there was no possible way of making it. Dan's enthusiasm, knowledge and flexibility are all a great credit to him and I'm sure if it wasn't for Dan's help my body would have given up on me a long time ago. Thanks a million Dan!!

Only eight months ago I was at my lowest level of fitness I had been for a while and at the age of 36 this was not good. I joined my local gym after a holiday in March. I was very overweight although people always told me ‘I carried it well’ I knew it was time I felt better about myself.

For as long as I can remember I started each New Year vowing to get fit and in the process lose weight. I feel that it was a huge piece of luck that I was introduced to Jon and after my first Personal Training session I knew this was going to work.

On my first session I was struggling just on the treadmill, although Jon only gave me positives that made me sure I would conquer it.

After eight months of meeting with Jon once or twice a week I have got to a fitness level I could have only dreamed of. Each time I mentally plateau he would subtly push me further. Just by asking ‘How’s the weight?’ gives me the push to get it back in check. He seems to sense when I’m ready to mentally and physically push it up a level.

Getting fit and loosing 20kg’s has given me the confidence and energy to start my own business. Before I was struggling with a busy life and had many energy level crashes. I now feel more relaxed and able to deal with a lot more pressure.

Jon is the most professional person I have had the pleasure in meeting for a long time and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Jon makes getting fit fun and interesting with a varied exercise programme that I can do on my own, but still look forward to working out with him. I can’t imagine ever living without exercise in my life now and I put this down to Jon’s expertise, knowledge, motivation and positive attitude.

I have been training with Jon for over two years now. Initially I was looking for someone to help with my core stability and help me with my knee problems. I had cartilage taken out of both knees the previous year and was still recovering, and felt wary about various exercises in the gym. I am also a member of a triathlon club so wanted to enhance my training in swimming, running and cycling. Jon has an excellent knowledge of exercise and physiology and has given me lots of different exercises to help with my knees and core. I have been amazed at the variety of exercises we have done with free weights, machines and the fitball. It’s never been boring and there’s always a new challenge during a session. There have been considerable improvements in my strength, which has helped a great deal, especially in my swimming. I have also attended Jon’s Spinning classes regularly, which has benefitted my cycling. Last year he even entered races with me to aid my running. As well as improving fitness I have gained far more confidence since beginning my training with Jon. Overall he has given me a great deal of knowledge and encouragement, and I have no hesitation in recommending him as a first-class personal trainer.
